Dr. Lalit Surajmal Kanodia, the founder and chairman of Datamatics, is often referred to as the architect of the Indian Software and Offshore Services Industry. He set trends in the industry decades ago, and had visions for it that have become a reality in recent times. He is on various task forces of the government of India and has helped shape IT and telecom policies.
Dr Kanodia completed his Doctorate in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is also a member of the board there currently. In 1967, he was a member of the core team that founded Tata Consultancy Services.
Dr Kanodia went on to establish the Datamatics Group in 1969. He set up the software division of the company in1975. Under his inspiring leadership and relentless pursuit of quality in services and customer satisfaction, Datamatics became the first company in India to win the International Asia Pacific Quality Award in the services category in 2007.
The company has grown from a team of 10 to over 2,500 people across the globe. The Government of Chile has designated Dr. Kanodia as the Honorary Consul General of Chile in India.
